Fees & Funding
Sessions
Phoenix Under Fives is open term-time only, following Park Grove Primary Academy's termly calendar. We offer the following sessions each day, Monday to Friday:
Morning session: 8.30am – 11.30am
Lunch club: 11.30am – 12.30pm
Afternoon session: 12.30pm – 3.30pm
Government-Funded Childcare
Phoenix Under Fives is registered to deliver government-funded early education for eligible children.
15 hours universal entitlement — available to all children from the term after their third birthday.
30 hours extended entitlement — available to eligible children of working parents aged 3–4. Parents must apply via the Best Start in Life website and provide a valid 11-digit eligibility code before the start of the relevant term.
Early education for 2-year-olds — funding is also available for eligible 2-year-olds. Please contact us to find out more.
Funded hours can be used across any of our sessions. Funding applies for 38 weeks per year (term-time only) and cannot be stretched across additional weeks, as we are a term-time only setting.
At the start of each term, all parents claiming funded hours are required to complete and sign a Parent Declaration Form. This confirms the funded hours we are claiming on your child's behalf, and any optional additional charges you have agreed to.
Fees for Unfunded Hours
Where a child attends hours beyond their funded entitlement, or where a child is not yet eligible for funding, sessions are charged at: £8.00 per hour
Invoices are issued in advance each half-term. Full details of our payment terms and copies of our Fees & Payments Policy are available on request.
Additional Charges
In line with government guidance, we offer a number of optional additional services. These charges are voluntary — they are not a condition of accessing your child's funded place. Most families choose to use these services as a matter of convenience, and we are always happy to discuss your individual circumstances if you have any questions.
Meals and snacks — £4.50 per day
We provide a cooked meal and snacks throughout our sessions. This charge covers all food and drink provided during your child's attendance.
Consumables — £4.00 per day
This covers everyday personal care items used during your child's sessions, including baking ingredients, wipes, nappy bags, and sun cream.
Optional activities — charged termly, amounts vary
Each term we offer a selection of optional enrichment activities delivered by specialist providers. Details and costs are shared with parents at the start of each term. Recent examples have included Rhythm Time music sessions at £3.00 per week. Participation is entirely optional.
