Our staff are qualified in Early Years at Level 3 or above and bring a wealth of experience and interests to the setting. We hope that you also find them to be friendly and approachable. We are extremely proud to have built a caring and dedicated team who are passionate about ensuring every child has an enriching time here at Phoenix.
We have a small group of children up to 24 a day with minimum of 3 staff in the room a day. Each member of staff have a group of key children who they observe and work closely with as well as their parents. Our staff also run the Tweenies group on Thursday morning for 2-3 year olds.
Sally
Manager
Sally is a former deputy headteacher with 15 years of experience in education. She is passionate about creating a stimulating and nurturing environment where children can thrive through creative play and outdoor exploration. She believes in supporting every child as an individual, allowing them to grow in confidence and independence at their own pace. Sally is looking forward to leading the Phoenix team on our journey to Curiosity Approach accreditation.
Debbie
Deputy Manager & SENCo
Debbie is our Deputy manager; she is an experienced practitioner who joined the Phoenix team in 2017 and has worked in childcare since 2005. Debbie is a qualified Early Year SENCo with a wealth of knowledge on supporting children with their individual needs, ensuring all Phoenix children can flourish during their time at preschool. She supports the team with the day-to-day running of the setting as well as working with Sally to lead the setting and progress towards Curiosity Approach accreditation.
Claire
Office Administrator
Claire deals with many administrative and behind-the-scenes tasks at Phoenix. She spends some time in the Phoenix office and supports the team with funding, finances and accounts.
Jenny
Early Years Practitioner
Jenny has worked at Phoenix for 16 years and has a level 3 qualification and an up to date paediatric first aid. She works very closely with all the children and families. Her key group are the Ladybird’s.
Azra
Early Years Practitioner
Azra has worked at Phoenix for 15 years and has a level 3 qualification and an up to date paediatric first aid. She works closely with the children in the room, especially her key group- Dragonflies. Azra is currently the mathematic lead bringing in numbers and problem solving into the children’s play.
Iwona
Early Years Practitioner
Iwona joined Phoenix in 2024 and is working towards her level 3 qualification. She works closely with the children in the room and enjoys supporting children to follow their own ideas. Iwona is particularly interested in supporting children to express themselves and their emotions.
Amy
Early Years Practitioner
Amy has worked at Phoenix for 7 years and has a level 3 qualification and an up to date paediatric first aid. Starting as bank staff and now working very closely with the children and families. She is also supporting a few children with additional needs alongside Debbie.
